Summary0004536: Feature request: add a configuration option for volume scaling with libmp3lame
DescriptionPlaying non-normalized tracks cause the output (f. e., a stream) to be not as loud as possible without noticeable clipping. libmp3lame seems to support scaling so an option to set the volume scaling coefficient would be useful, better with a virtual volume regulator for httpd (now setting the volume is not possible if only httpd output is enabled).

What shall this configuration option really do?

bodqhrohro (reporter)

It should multiply the volume of the resulting sound to the given coefficient. Or maybe set the Replay Gain if there is a way to embed ID3 tags in an ICY stream.
